Yesterday started as a happy day for me, my blog turned one year old, woohoo! I had a lot of blogs the past few years but they never lasted longer than 4 months.
At 2 P.M. I had an appointment at the oculist. Since 6 months I have a grey spot in my left sight that has been bothering me so yesterday they made photos of my eyes to see exactly what was wrong. This wasn’t really a fun thing to go through because I had to get injected to see my eyes better on the photos (read: nurse didn’t inject me right, I felt too much pain, got nauseous and almost fainted and then she needed to inject me in my other arm).
Turns out, I have retinal scarring on both of my eyes and they can’t do anything about it.
“Retinal scarring is the development of scar tissue on, in, or under the retina, an important structure in the back of the eye. Mild scarring may not be a serious medical issue, but large scars can cause vision distortion and eventual vision loss.”
They don’t know exactly how I got these scars but I’m gonna have this grey spot in my vision for the rest of my life. Now I have to come back once in a while so they can see if the scars are getting active. This means, more photos and more injections…
Have you ever been to an oculist?
